Mandy Moore had relationships with several high-profile stars before marrying Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith in 2018.
The This Is Us alum began dating Wilmer Valderrama in 2000 when she was just 16 years old. After dating several stars, including Zach Braff, Moore married musician Ryan Adams in 2009. The duo announced their split in January 2015 after six years of marriage. Moore later told Glamour in October 2018 she had no regrets about the failed relationship.
“I don’t feel guilty for [the divorce]. I don’t fault myself for it,” she shared. “When people said, ‘I’m sorry,’ I was like, ‘No. Sorry would have been had I stayed in a very unhealthy situation.’ I didn’t. I found my way out. And when I did, things opened back up again.”
Moore told the outlet that she was “still dealing with the trauma of my divorce” when she met Goldsmith in 2015, adding, “Taylor was steadfast in his support — that was a huge sign for me.”

Wilmer Valderrama
Moore had her first serious relationship with Valderrama, dating the Encanto actor from 2000 to 2002. During a 2006 interview on The Howard Stern Show, the Florida native claimed that he had taken Moore’s virginity. “The sex with Mandy was good, but it wasn’t like warm apple pie,” he claimed.
Twelve years later, the “I Wanna Be With You” singer gave Stern her side of the story. “He did not [take my virginity]. I dated him when I was 16 and 17. … I love him and I still love him. He’s a very good friend and that’s why I was so shocked by it because, not only was it a fib, but it was so unlike him and so uncharacteristic,” she explained.
There doesn’t seem to be any lingering bad blood between the exes. “We’re not that close, but we’re friendly. We have some mutual friends,” Moore shared during a 2018 interview with Howard Stern. “We’ll see each other around every now and then. He came to my house a couple months ago. I had some friends over. He’s a good guy, he really is.”
Valderrama also appeared in Moore’s 2022 music video for “In Real Life.”
Billy Crawford
While answering fan questions on her website’s message board in March 2002, Moore said that her relationship with the “When You Think About Me” singer “only lasted for a few weeks” and that they met on tour with *NSYNC.
Andy Roddick
Moore dated the tennis star from 2002 to 2004. In 2020, she participated in a roast of Roddick to raise money for his charitable foundation. The Texas native’s wife, Brooklyn Decker, joked about being jealous of Moore during the event. “I still harbor anger toward Mandy, because she got his good years,” she said. “She got the hair. She got, like, the U.S. Open Championship. She got the good stuff.”
Three years later, Moore praised her ex via Instagram in honor of the 20th anniversary of his U.S. Open victory. “Andy was a really formative part of my young adult life and although we’re not in touch, I was so moved by this article reflecting on the 20th anniversary of his U.S. Open win and the kind of life he’s led since,” she wrote alongside a post of a GQ Sports profile on Roddick. “I’m so happy for him and his family. Congrats on this milestone, Andy!”
Decker responded to Moore kind words in an Instagram comment, calling her a “class act.”
Zach Braff
Braff, who Moore dated from 2004 to 2006, inspired some of the songs on the singer’s album Wild Hope.
“I’m sure he’ll hear all about the record,” the New Hampshire native told Marie Claire in 2007. “[The] poor guy’s probably heard about it in every interview.”
Adam Goldstein
Although she only dated “DJ AM” for two months in 2007, Moore stayed on good terms with the Pennsylvania native until he died from a drug overdose in 2009 at the age of 36.
“There are so many times I still find myself wanting to tell you about something funny or strange or exciting. I miss your contagious, guttural laugh and your hugs. The best hugs,” Moore captioned a 2019 Instagram post on the 10th anniversary of Goldstein’s death.
Ryan Adams
Moore was married to the singer-songwriter from 2009 to 2016. “I’m in awe of him — his brain, his passion. He’s truly one of a kind,” she said of Adams to Marie Claire that same year.
She further elaborated on the nature of her relationship with Adams in a 2019 New York Times exposé in which Moore and six other women accused the Whiskeytown alum of various forms of abuse.
“Music was a point of control for him,” she said. “He would always tell me, ‘You’re not a real musician because you don’t play an instrument.’ … His controlling behavior essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time — my entire mid-to-late 20s.”
At the time, Adams said via his lawyer that Moore’s account was “completely inconsistent with his view of the relationship.” In July 2020, he apologized for “mistreating people” in an open letter.
“Having truly realized the harm that I’ve caused, it wrecked me, and I’m still reeling from the ripples of devastating effects that my actions triggered. There is no way to convince people that this time is truly different, but this is the albatross that I deserve to carry with me as a result of my action,” Adams wrote.
Taylor Goldsmith
“We have a modern kind of love story,” she told InStyle of her and Goldsmith’s romance in March 2019. “If someone would have told me three years ago, ‘That’s your future husband, and you’re going to meet him through Instagram,’ I would have thought that they were absolutely bonkers. It proves that you have to stay open-minded because you just never know.”
Three years after the couple tied the knot in 2018, they welcomed their first together, son August “Gus” Harrison. They announced they were expecting baby No. 2 in June 2022 and their son Ozzie was born the following October. They welcomed their daughter, Louise, in September 2024.
