The Bear cast has had more success in their dating lives than their fictional counterparts.
The Hulu series, which premiered in June 2022, explores talented chef Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) as he returns to Chicago to run his older brother Mikey’s (Jon Bernthal) restaurant following his death. Season 1 focused on Carmy’s attempts to help keep the sandwich shop afloat while dealing with his own grief over his brother’s suicide.
Fans were quick to question the chemistry between Carmy and his sous chef Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) — but the cast wasn’t as sold on a potential romance.
“They got a lot of trauma on both sides. Like if even that [was explored] — I don’t think that window is open,” Edebiri exclusively told Us Weekly in January 2023. “But if it were, there would need to be like two seasons where it’s just them doing therapy individually before that would even be an option.”
Edebiri noted that the series didn’t initially plan to explore the coworkers as a couple, adding, “I think when we were making it, neither of us [me nor Jeremy Allen White] were thinking about that. It did feel really nice to get to do something that felt different. There aren’t that many platonic male [and] female relationships.”
Offscreen, the Bear cast has remained more tight-lipped about their love lives. White offered rare glimpses into his marriage with Addison Timlin after they tied the knot in 2019. Us confirmed in May 2023 that Timlin filed for divorce after three years of marriage.

Jeremy Allen White
White and Timlin, who started dating after several years of friendship, welcomed daughter Ezer in 2018 and tied the knot one year later. The twosome expanded their family again with daughter Dolores in 2020.
After three years of marriage, Timlin filed for divorce in May 2023. White sparked romance rumors with Ashley Moore three months later after they were seen packing on the PDA in Los Angeles but their connection quickly fizzled out. He was later spotted with singer Rosalía on multiple occasions.
In September 2024, White was photographed kissing costar Molly Gordan, who plays his love interest on The Bear.

The Massachusetts native, who plays Richie, is currently dating Yelena Yemchuk. They share two daughters.
Ayo Edebiri
The comedian, who brings Sydney to life, has chosen not to share much about her offscreen love life. Instead, she has used her social media platform to offer updates on her career.

Before playing Marcus, Boyce remained tight-lipped about his personal life and instead documented him time as a director and fashion designer for the band Odd Future. The alternative hip-hop music collective, which unofficially disbanded in 2016, also featured members such as Tyler, the Creator and Frank Ocean.

The Saturday Night Live alum, who plays Natalie, was previously linked to Fred Armisen in 2010. Elliott exchanged vows with TV writer Bill Kennedy in 2016 after several years of dating. They expanded their family with daughter Edith in 2020 and son William in June 2023.
