Liam Neeson is single, but don’t expect to find him out on dates.
When asked whether he is dating, the 72-year-old star told People, “No, in a word.” He declared in the magazine’s latest issue, “I’m past all that.”
Prior to swearing off dating, Neeson had many A-list romances. He dated Barbra Streisand, Helen Mirren and Brooke Shields before marrying Natasha Richardson in 1994.
Neeson dated Mirren, 79, for four years after working together on 1981’s Excalibur. The Oscar nominee looks back fondly at their relationship, noting that he keeps in touch with Mirren from time to time. (Mirren has been married to director Taylor Hackford since 1997.)

“I remember going to see a bullfight [in Southwest France] with Helen, which was extraordinary. Got really mixed feelings about that, seeing extraordinary acts of bravery and then seeing this horrible death,” he recalled to the outlet in an interview published on Wednesday, October 23. “Then we were on the Loire Valley camping. Oh my God, it was gorgeous. Helen was a good cook, cooking on outside fire and stuff. Lovely.”
Mirren previously commented on her connection with Neeson in November 2022. “We loved each other. We were not meant to be together in that way, but we loved each other very, very much,” she told AARP at the time. “I love him deeply to this day. He’s such an amazing guy.”

Nearly a decade after their 1985 split — following brief romances with Julia Roberts and Shields — Neeson found love with Richardson when they met while in the 1993 Broadway revival of Anna Christie.
Neeson and Richardson tied the knot in 1994 and were married until her death in 2009. The Parent Trap actress was 45 when she died following an accident while skiing. The couple shared two sons, Micheál, 29, and Daniel, 28.
“They say the hardest thing in the world is losing someone you love,” Neeson wrote via Facebook in 2016. “My wife died unexpectedly. She brought me so much joy. She was my everything.” The Taken actor added that Richardson taught him “how to love unconditionally.”
One year after Richardson’s death, Neeson started seeing public relations executive Freya St. Johnston. The pair called it quits after two years.

In February 2022, Neeson revealed that while filming Blacklight in Australia two years prior he “fell in love, but she was taken.” He didn’t give any other details to local Sunrise talk show cohosts David Koch and Natalie Barr about the mystery woman, but added, “I loved Melbourne.”
Since then, Neeson has remained focused on his sons and his career. “We used to do a bit of fly-fishing together. We haven’t done it for several years now,” Neeson told People of his bond with his boys, both of whom live in New York City near him. He noted they enjoy watching movies and doing “just simple stuff” as a family.
Neeson has also learned to soak up his quiet time in between projects. “I’m an avid reader,” he said, describing his ideal day as sleeping in and then reading a Patricia Cornwell mystery or Nordic noir book.
